Are you tired of giving the same type of assessment over and over again? Do your students roll their eyes at the thought of having to fill out another multiple choice test? Come join us in the "Podcasting to Promote Classroom Conversations'' session.  This session shows teachers how they can use the process of creating a "Podcast" to assess students ability to analyze, collaborate, listen, write, read, and speak about content. This method of assessment provides you the educator a new method of assessment, and not to mention provides you with an opportunity to showcase student work with their family and friends.

The goal of this session is to show teachers how they can use the process of creating a podcast to assess students ability to analyze, collaborate, listen, speak, read, write, and use thinking skills. This is important for us as teachers because it gives us an opportunity to differentiate our assessment methods.

This session will cover the process of creating a Podcast where educators will:

1. Create Anchor account
2. Record audio for Podcast
3. Create Podcast intro/outro
4. Upload a recording
5. Combine intro with recording and outro
6. Post podcast to Google Sites for showcase

Based on what they learned educator will be given an activity and will create a podcast of their own: (time permitting)

1. Educators will be given a learning objective (explain how the setting affects the plot of the story)
2. Educators will be provided a text
3. Educators will be provide sentence stems to guide thinking
4. Educators will read text
5. Educator will create scripts using sentence stems in groups
6. Educators will record themselves using any form of audio recorder
7. Educators will upload recording
